About Youth Arts Forum

Uniting the Youth of the World Through the Arts

Youth Arts Forum (YAF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1990 with a mission to empower, inspire, and connect young artists and performers from around the world. We believe that creativity is not only a form of self-expression but also a universal language — one that builds confidence, bridges cultures, and keeps personal dreams alive.

Our Story:

Youth Arts Forum was born out of a growing concern over the decline of formal school art and music programs. As creative opportunities in education began to disappear, YAF stepped in to provide young people with a dedicated space to express themselves freely and professionally.

For more than three decades, YAF has supported thousands of young musicians, singers, painters, photographers, dancers, and creators — giving them the exposure and encouragement they deserve. Our programs include nationwide concerts, art exhibitions, mentorship opportunities, and online platforms that showcase youth talent to a global audience.

Our Mission

To unite youth around the world through the arts by providing a nurturing platform that encourages self-expression, builds self-esteem, and celebrates creativity in all its forms.

Beyond the stage and the gallery, YAF is a community — one that believes in “Kids Helping Kids.”
Through partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and businesses, we raise funds to support arts education and creative youth programs nationwide.

Meet Our Founder: Barry Salottolo

Barry Salottolo, founder of Youth Arts Forum, is a lifelong musician, producer, and visionary dedicated to giving young artists a voice. With a passion for both performance and philanthropy, Barry launched YAF in 1990 after seeing firsthand how budget cuts in schools were silencing young creatives.

As a performer and music industry professional, Barry understood how vital artistic expression is to personal growth and community building. He created Youth Arts Forum to give young people — regardless of background or income — an opportunity to be heard, seen, and celebrated.

Under Barry’s leadership, YAF has grown from a local initiative into a respected international platform for youth empowerment through art and music. His belief in “art as a bridge between people” continues to guide every YAF program and event.

Barry has produced hundreds of youth concerts and exhibitions, working with schools, venues, and sponsors to ensure young performers experience the excitement of professional stages. His dedication has inspired generations of artists who now carry forward his message of creativity, compassion, and unity.

Founder’s Quote

“Every young person deserves the chance to discover their voice and share it with the world. Art has the power to heal, to connect, and to inspire — and that’s what Youth Arts Forum is all about.” — Barry Salottolo, Founder of Youth Arts Forum

Together, we continue to prove that art — in all its forms — can unite the youth of the world and make it brighter, one performance and one painting at a time.
